This patch was made for an official baseball team sanctioned by FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover.  The earliest mention of the team that could be located was in an obituary for Thomas J. Connor, which mentioned that he was a captain of the team in 1932.  This patch was worn by members of the team, but it is commonly believed that it did not come into use until the late 1940's or early 1950’s.
